Edinburgh Community High School graduate gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 8, 2023) – Jacob George is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2023 legislative session, said State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus).

George, a resident of Edinburgh, is the son of John and Candance George. He graduated from Edinburgh Community High School and is a sophomore at Ball State University studying political science.

"Interns are integral to the daily operations of the Senate, and it is a pleasure to witness their hard work here at the Statehouse," Walker said. "This internship is a great opportunity for our young Hoosiers to experience and learn about the legislative process in our state, and I look forward to seeing what they do next."

As a legislative intern, George tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, attends Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end in April.
