Donato: Senate District 18 awarded COVID-19 response funding

STATEHOUSE (April 23, 2020) — Communities in Senate District 18 will be awarded funds through the new COVID-19 Response Program, said State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport). Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) recently announced 13 rural communities across the state received the new federal grant funding.

Below is a list of the projects and communities awarded funds in Senate District 18.

  • Cass County and Logansport Memorial Hospital received $150,000 to provide COVID-19 testing at the Cass County Fairgrounds to residents of Cass County. Special hours will be set aside for those that are seniors aged 62 and older.

  • Logansport received $100,000 to provide supplies and meals to LMI residents in partnership with the United Way of Cass County.

  • Fulton County received $250,000 to award grants to small businesses in order to retain employees.

"I am grateful our district was able to receive this immediate assistance," Donato said. "I am confident this funding will go the distance for our communities as we continue to address the ongoing pandemic."

More projects will be announced as they continue to be evaluated and reviewed by OCRA.
