Dernulc sworn in as state senator for Senate District 1

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 22, 2022) – State Sen.-elect Dan Dernulc (R-Highland) became the state senator for Indiana Senate District 1 after taking the oath of office earlier today. He was sworn in by Indiana Supreme Court Justice Loretta Rush.

“As a lifelong resident of Highland, and active member in the community, I am honored to have been chosen to represent Senate District 1 in the Indiana Senate," Dernulc said. "I look forward to working with all of my fellow legislators to help improve the lives of Hoosiers."

Dernulc has served on the Highland Town Council, the Little Calumet River Basin Development Commission and the Lake County Council.

A graduate of Purdue University Northwest (formerly Purdue University Calumet) with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Dernulc currently is the project manager in corporate security at AT&T.

He and his wife live in Highland, where they are proud to have raised four children and three grandchildren.
