Deery receives Senate committee assignments

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 8, 2022) — State Sen. Spencer Deery (R-West Lafayette) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve on four committees for the 123rd Indiana General Assembly.

Deery will serve on the following Senate committees:

• Commerce and Technology;

• Education and Career Development;

• Insurance and Financial Institutions; and

• Utilities.

"I ran for office with the belief that our state needed legislators who would think long term and sort myths from facts," Deery said. "Much of that occurs in legislative committees, and I am thrilled to be assigned to committees that touch some of our state's most significant policy areas."

Committee hearings can be viewed online by visiting iga.in.gov Legislative calendars, agendas, vote tallies and proposed legislation can also be found on this site.

The 2023 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 22. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 9.
