STATEHOUSE (Oct. 28, 2026) — Communities in Senate District 23 will receive nearly $6.8 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Spencer Deery (R-West Lafayette).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 23, the following communities received grants:

  • Attica received $351,902.40;
  • Clinton received $138,714.48;
  • Covington received $562,206.80;
  • Fountain County received $249,303.52;
  • Kingman received $92,008.80;
  • Lafayette received $607,650;
  • Mecca received $199,880;
  • Montezuma received $220,156.80;
  • Montgomery County received $291,426.87;
  • Newport received $424,848.20;
  • Otterbein received $496,000;
  • Parke County received $219,131.32;
  • Rosedale received $268,952.10;
  • Shadeland received $175,943.60;
  • Vermillion County received $215,887.99;
  • Warren County received $272,672;
  • Waveland received $125,368;
  • Waynetown received $742,380;
  • West Lafayette received $364,377;
  • West Lebanon received $63,866.44; and
  • Williamsport received $676,592.64.

"Local officials know their communities best and how to invest in a way that gives residents the best bang for their buck," Deery said. "That's why the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program is such a great opportunity for cities, towns and counties to put some of their own skin in the game while leveraging state dollars to ensure more roads and bridges are properly maintained."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 12,500 receive an 80%/20% match, while counties with populations greater than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 12,500 receive a 50%/50% match.
