Hebron High School graduate gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 15, 2024) – Jacob Stewart is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2024 legislative session, said State Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso).

Stewart, a resident of Hebron, is the son of Kelly and Al Stewart. Stewart graduated from Hebron High School and is a senior at IUPUI studying neuroscience.

"Our interns are very important here in the Senate," Charbonneau said. "They assist us with numerous tasks and make the legislative sessions much easier. I'm always happy to see interns from the local community here to gain professional experience."

As a policy intern, Stewart analyzes legislation, conducts legislative and policy research, writes memos on legislation, reviews written communication for accuracy and attends committee hearings throughout session.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by March 14.
