Bassler to chair Senate Committee on Ethics, School Funding Subcommittee

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 8, 2022) — State Sen. Eric Bassler (R-Washington) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Ethics and the School Funding Subcommittee.

Bassler will also serve as ranking member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and as a member of the Senate Committees on Environmental Affairs and Rules and Legislative Procedure.

"I am pleased to serve as chair of both the Senate Committee on Ethics and School Funding Subcommittee during the upcoming legislative session," Bassler said. "As the Indiana General Assembly is tasked with approving a two-year budget in 2023, school funding will be a major topic of discussion and I look forward to meeting with fellow lawmakers and Hoosiers as we work to better support schools across the state."

Committee hearings can be viewed online by visiting iga.in.gov. Legislative calendars, agendas, vote tallies and proposed legislation can also be found on this site.

The 2023 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 22. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 9.
