Baldwin: General Assembly kicks off 2026 session

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 18, 2025) — State Sen. Scott Baldwin (R-Noblesville) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes on Jan. 5. By state law, the 2026 session will conclude on or before March 14.

"During the interim, my fellow lawmakers and I learned more about public school funding, long term care insurance and barriers to entering licensed professions," Baldwin said. "In the 2026 session, I look forward to applying what my colleagues and I learned to craft legislation that ensures Indiana continues to thrive."

As the 2026 session gets underway, Baldwin encourages residents of Senate District 20 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Baldwin can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Baldwin or by phone at 800-382-9467.
