Applications Now Open for Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship

Friday, December 12, 2025

Ensuring Indiana students have access to high-quality education starts with supporting our next generation of Hoosier educators. One way we continue to show our support and invest in Indiana's education system is through the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, which is a program designed to help talented Hoosiers pursue a career in teaching.

In 2023, Senate Republicans proudly supported a law to increase the amount of money the CHE can award a recipient of the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship from $7,500 each year to $10,000 if the individual agrees to teach at an eligible Indiana school for at least five years.

The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship now provides up to $10,000 per year, for a total of up to $40,000, to students who commit to pursuing a teaching career in Indiana. The scholarship is open to current high school seniors and college students who plan to teach in Indiana for at least five years after graduating from college. By pairing financial support with a commitment to service, the program helps address teacher shortages across the state while keeping skilled educators in our classrooms.

By investing in programs like the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, Senate Republicans continue to prioritize education, support our teachers and strengthen Indiana's schools for years to come. Hoosiers interested in learning more about this scholarship opportunity can find additional information through the Indiana Commission for Higher Education by clicking here.

Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are open now through Feb. 28. Students are encouraged to apply early and ensure all required materials are submitted on time. Learn more and apply here.
