Alting sworn in for seventh term in state senate

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 29, 2022) — State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) was sworn in for his seventh term as a member of the Indiana State Senate at the Statehouse Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Alting represents Senate District 22, which includes all of Carroll County and the eastern portion of Tippecanoe County.

The upcoming legislative session will be a "long" session and members of the Indiana General Assembly will be tasked with crafting a comprehensive budget to fund government services for the next two fiscal years, which will begin on July 1, 2023.

Having served in the senate since 1998, Alting is the most senior member of the chamber.

"I'm once again excited to serve the residents of Senate District 22," Alting said. "I expect to tackle a variety of issues during the upcoming session, and look forward to working with my fellow legislators to create a balanced budget and address other concerns facing Indiana."

As the 2023 session begins, Alting encourages residents of Senate District 22 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have by email at Senator.Alting@iga.in.gov or by phone at 800-382-9467.
