STATEHOUSE (Nov. 18, 2024) — State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) was presented the Library Advocacy Award by the Indiana Library Federation Monday during a ceremony in Indianapolis.
The award recognizes state or federal legislators and individuals who have worked to promote Indiana's public libraries.
The award was presented to Alting for his continued legislative support of Indiana's libraries and his work in advocating for First Amendment rights and intellectual freedoms for all Hoosiers.
"Community libraries provide an important space for local residents to learn, gather and explore the world around them," Alting said. "Thanks to great library systems like the Tippecanoe County Public Library, West Lafayette Public Library, Camden-Jackson Township Public Library, Delphi Public Library and Flora-Monroe Township Public Library residents in Senate District 22 have access to a wide variety of resources. I'd like to thank the Indiana Library Federation for awarding me this prestigious honor."
