Alting: General Assembly kicks off 2024 session

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2023) — State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.

"One of my top priorities as a lawmaker is to address constituent concerns during the legislative session," Alting said. "I to look forward to meeting with my constituents and colleagues to help craft legislation that benefits all Hoosiers."

As the 2024 session gets underway, Alting encourages residents of Senate District 22 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Alting can be reached via email at or by phone at 800-382-9467.
