Alting: Carroll and Tippecanoe counties get economic boost from state

STATEHOUSE (April 12, 2024) – State leaders announced this week that the Greater Lafayette region, which includes Carroll and Tippecanoe counties, will receive $35 million through the Regional Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) 2.0 program, said State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette).

The READI program was launched by the state in 2021 to help fund community projects in regions across Indiana.

"In recent years, quality-of-life initiatives have been an important factor in economic growth for our cities and towns," Alting said. "The READI program offers funding for projects across Indiana, which will entice more economic development for years to come. I want to thank local officials for working with the state to obtain this funding to make our communities even better."

The funding will be managed by the Greater Lafayette Commerce, which plans to use the grant money to grow the region's population by working with Purdue University to support the growing semiconductor industry in Indiana.
