Alexander: General Assembly kicks off 2024 session

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2023) — State Sen. Scott Alexander (R-Muncie) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.

"During the summer, I served as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation, and learned about different concerns regarding our state roadways. I also visited every K-12 school in Senate District 26 to meet our educators and see how they are preparing our students for the future," Alexander said. "I am eager to use the information I gained this summer to craft legislation and lead discussions on how to continue to improve our state and local communities."

As the 2024 session gets underway, Alexander encourages residents of Senate District 26 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Alexander can be reached via email at Senator.Alexander@iga.in.gov or by phone at 800-382-9467.
