As your state senator, my top priority is ensuring the voices of Senate District 16 are heard at the Statehouse on issues that matter most. That's why I authored and sponsored bills in recent years to enact new laws that will benefit all Hoosiers.

Protecting Critical Infrastructure, Farmland

To preserve Hoosier land, I authored and supported laws that prohibit the purchase of Indiana's critical infrastructure and farmland by hostile foreign actors officially recognized as America's adversaries, some of which include China and Russia.

Tax Cuts

In 2022, I supported a law to eliminate the state's utility receipts tax, resulting in over $200 million in savings for Hoosiers on their utility bills, and this year I sponsored House Enrolled Act 1002, which will ensure utilities prioritize more affordable, reliable power to Hoosiers.

Affordability Issues

For many Hoosiers, the cost of health care is too high and rising. For years, Senate Republicans have championed efforts to lower the cost of health care by increasing price transparency and patient choice. Some of those efforts include laws I authored that:

• Ban doctor noncompete agreements so doctors have the ability to practice in the communities they want to practice in.
• Reduce prescription drug prices by requiring health insurance plans to pass on rebates to employers and members and stop unfair pharmacy benefit practices.
• Protect Hoosier patients from being sued for medical debt by "bad actor" hospitals that don't comply with Indiana's laws.
