Statement from Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray

State Sen. Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) made the following statement today regarding the governor's 2021 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 19, 2021) – "Thanks to years of conservative fiscal discipline and swift action by Gov. Holcomb last year, Indiana is in a very enviable financial position compared to many other states. However, we know there are individuals, families, and businesses – and certain industries, in particular – that are still struggling.

"As a state we must do all we can to get our economy humming again at full capacity, and many of the items Gov. Holcomb mentioned in his address tonight will help meet that objective. Those goals, coupled with the thoughtful and well-planned COVID-19 vaccine rollout by the administration, should provide optimism for all of us as we look to the future.

"Fully funding K-12 education, supporting workforce development initiatives, providing recovery assistance to our businesses that need it, and expanding broadband access are all critical to the future success of our state. I look forward to working with the governor to make these goals a reality so that all Hoosiers can create happy and healthy lives for themselves and their families."
