Zay: General Assembly kicks off 2024 session

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2023) — State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.

“Returning to the Statehouse to join my fellow legislators was encouraging as we shared new ideas and information learned during the interim," Zay said. "As we enter this session, I look forward to addressing issues across the state and continuing my work with broadband in order to improve our state's infrastructure and build an even better place for people to live, work and raise a family."

As the 2024 session gets underway, Zay encourages residents of Senate District 17 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have by email at Senator.Zay@iga.in.gov or by phone at 800-382-9467.
