Zay: Place of Grace receives $750,000 in state funding

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 19, 2023) — The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) recently awarded $750,000 to Place of Grace through the Recovery Housing Program (RHP), said State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington).

The funding from RHP will help develop a certified Level 2 Recovery Residence in the City of Huntington. The residence will have five complete two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments with kitchen, laundry and living areas. Each apartment will be able to house up to four family members.

"The funding for this new development will be beneficial to helping our community better support local residents with substance use disorders," Zay said. "As a state lawmaker, I have and will continue to advocate for and support addiction and recovery programs both in Senate District 17 and throughout Indiana. I look forward to seeing the positive impact this funding will have on Place of Grace and the women they serve."

The RHP provides funding for communities to create stable housing for individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.

Hoosiers with questions, comments or concerns about the RHP program or other recovery and addiction programs, can contact Zay by email at Senator.Zay@iga.in.gov or by phone at 317-234-9441, or the Family and Social Services Administration's Division of Mental Health and Addiction consumer service line at 800-901-1133.
