Sen. Buchanan welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 21, 2024) – State Sen. Brian Buchanan (R-Lebanon) welcomed Crawfordsville resident and Southmont Junior High School student Andrew Badertscher to serve as a Senate page at the Statehouse in January.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"I enjoyed meeting Andrew and welcoming him to the Statehouse to learn about state government," said Buchanan. "It is always a pleasure meeting young Hoosiers like him who want to learn about their state legislature."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
