Sen. Freeman welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 21, 2024) – State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) welcomed Beech Grove resident and Beech Grove High School student Nicholas Bergeron Jr. to the Statehouse to serve as a Senate page in January.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It was a pleasure meeting Nicholas this session," said Freeman. "As someone who served as a page, I know this program is an amazing way to welcome youth to the Statehouse to learn more about state government."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
