STATEHOUSE (March 10, 2023) – State Sen. Scott Alexander (R-Muncie) welcomed Muncie resident and Delta High School student Emily Hayes and Muncie resident and Delta Middle School student Hunter Reed to the Statehouse where they served as Senate pages in February.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.
"I truly enjoy meeting the young people through the Senate Page Program," Alexander said. "It provides a great opportunity for kids to learn about their state government and to experience the legislative process firsthand."
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
