Indiana State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) made the following statement today regarding the unveiling of the ‘38th Parallel Veterans of the Korean War Memorial’ signage:
STATEHOUSE (July 8, 2016) – “Korean War veterans rarely receive the recognition they deserve for serving our country, defending democracy and preserving freedom.
“It was a great honor to recognize our Korean War veterans today and unveil the ‘38th Parallel Veterans of the Korean War Memorial’ sign to be placed on Interstate 69 in Evansville.
“I am thankful for Don Gilles for bringing this idea forward, and for the work of my colleagues in the General Assembly and the Indiana Department of Transportation for making this memorial a reality.”
