STATEHOUSE (July 5, 2016) – State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) and the Indiana Department of Transportation will unveil “38th Parallel Veterans of the Korean War Memorial” signage to be placed on Interstate 69, north of Morgan Avenue, in Evansville.
This latitude formed the border between North and South Korea before the Korean War, which began after North Korea crossed the 38th Parallel to invade South Korea. The 38th Parallel North latitude line runs through Evansville where the sign will be placed to commemorate the war.
