Statement from Sen. Tomes

State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) issued the following statement regarding the decision to place a sculpture honoring fallen heroes in Whitewater Memorial State Park

STATEHOUSE (Sept. 5, 2014) — “As a Vietnam veteran, I voice my support of the sculpture gifted to the Department of Natural Resources and placed in Whitewater Memorial State Park in recognition of military veterans. It’s worth noting that the symbol of the cross has special meaning to the military, in particular, the veterans who have served in hostile conditions. I join Governor Mike Pence and Representative Jud McMillin in agreeing that this sculpture is a tribute to the service and sacrifice of our United States military veterans.”
