State Sen. Randy Head (R-Logansport) was recently named 2013 “Legislator of the Year” by the Indiana Farm Bureau for his work on Senate Enrolled Act 343 during the 2013 legislative session. SEA 343 provided important protections to rural residents from the Government Modernization Act.
“We were pleased to honor Senator Head for his superior leadership and commitment to Indiana’s rural residents. His legislation fixed components of the government reorganization process that would have made rural Hoosiers subject to government mergers,” said Katrina Hall, Director of State Government Relations for the Indiana Farm Bureau.
The Indiana Farm Bureau also noted Head’s exemplary leadership in considering the needs of rural communities as the chair of the Senate Committee on Local Government.
“I want to thank the Indiana Farm Bureau for the work it has done to protect our farmers, and I’m sincerely grateful for this recognition,” Head said. “Robust agriculture is vital to Indiana’s economy and I am dedicated to keeping the needs of Indiana farmers and rural communities a priority.”
