State Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek) made the following statement today applauding Adkev, Inc.’s plan to add up to 60 jobs to the Monticello area
STATEHOUSE (Dec. 3, 2013) — “Our community is gifted with skilled, dedicated employees who exemplify the Hoosier work ethic. It’s no surprise that businesses like Adkev continue to invest in them.
“As many other states struggle to rebound their local economies, companies are increasingly being drawn to Indiana’s business-friendly tax climate, low cost of living and strong work ethic. We have recently been recognized as having the 10th-best business tax climate in the country, and today’s announcement further indicates that companies are confident in our state and its workers. I’m hopeful these new jobs will bring much-needed relief to those still seeking employment and encourage other businesses to follow Adkev’s lead.”
Today, Gov. Mike Pence and executives from Adkev, Inc. announced plans to expand the company’s manufacturing facility in Monticello, adding up to 60 jobs by 2016. It will invest approximately $11 million to renovate the facility, which will include installing new injection molding machines to double the company’s production capacity. Headquartered in Goodland, Adkev specializes in custom injection molding, insert molding and value-added assembly services for the automotive, appliance and electrical industries. It currently employs more than 300 Hoosiers and plans to begin hiring additional staff to correspond with renovations.
