[s26] Sen. Eckerty Selected as Bowhay Institute Fellow

STATEHOUSE (Aug. 10, 2012) — State Sen. Doug Eckerty (R-Yorktown) was recently named a fellow of the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development (BILLD). He will participate in their annual Midwestern Legislative Conference, Aug. 10 through 14.

BILLD is a non-partisan organization created to assist Midwestern legislators serving in their first four years of office with skill development in leadership, decision-making and policy analysis. Eckerty was elected to his first four-year term in the State Senate in 2010.

“It is an honor to have been selected for such a unique opportunity,” Eckerty said. “At the upcoming BILLD conference, Midwestern legislators will have the chance to share ideas for sound public policy and economic development they can bring back to their home states. For me, this event not only means collaborating with other lawmakers but also finding new solutions to issues that affect the communities I represent.”

Eckerty is one of three Indiana legislators selected to attend the conference in Madison, Wis. For more information, go to
