State Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso) made the following statement today congratulating East Porter County School Corporation officials, teachers, parents and students for placing among Indiana’s highest-performing schools:
STATEHOUSE (July 10, 2012) – “I am very proud and want to congratulate the faculty, parents and especially the students of East Porter County Schools and their scores on the ISTEP+ tests.
“Education is a key component to our children’s future and the results of East Porter Schools have proven their dedication to academics as a top ten performing school in the state.”
In addition Charbonneau also recognized two other area schools for their outstanding performances — Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation (ranked 19th) and Valparaiso Community Schools (ranked 20th) on ISTEP+ scoring.
Indiana Department of Education officials released East Porter County School Corporation’s 2011-2012 ISTEP+ scores during a Statehouse press conference Tuesday morning. Results showed East Porter County Schools rank 8th in Indiana, with an 87.5 percent overall student passing rate on both the Math and English/Language Arts portions of ISTEP+.
