[s7] Sen. Hershman Applauds News of Purdue's Choice of Daniels for President

Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek) made the following statement:

STATEHOUSE (June 19, 2012) — “If news reports are accurate, I am very pleased with the Purdue Board of Trustees' selection of Mitch Daniels as Purdue's next President.

“Our national and state systems of higher education face many challenges, including rising tuition and student loan debt, the need to maintain research excellence, and the demand for a more educated workforce.  Mitch Daniels has a stellar legacy of transformational leadership and innovative thinking as our Governor.  I am sure that these skills, in combination with his business background, academic credentials and demonstrated fundraising ability make him well equipped to lead Purdue. I look forward to working with him.”
