STATEHOUSE (May 21, 2012) — State Sens. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) and Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek) will co-host a Tippecanoe County job fair — featuring 3,800 potential jobs — on Wednesday, May 30, with U.S. Sen. Dan Coats.
An estimated 101 employers are expected to attend the 2012 Hoosier Job Fair, which will be held at the Tippecanoe Country Fair grounds West Pavilion, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“I couldn’t be happier with the expected turnout of employers and the open positions,” Alting said. “This is a prime opportunity for unemployed or underemployed Hoosiers from all across Indiana, and I encourage recent college graduates or anyone searching for new career opportunities to take advantage of this event.”
Companies from all over Indiana will be represented at the job fair, including:
• CSX Railroad
• Community Health Network
• Indiana State Police
• Nanshan America Advanced Aluminum Technologies
• Oerlikon Fairfield
• Purdue University
• RR Donnelly
• State of Indiana
• Wabash National
“Job fairs present unique opportunities for both employers and potential employees to make positive impressions through in-person, face-to-face meetings,” Hershman said. “Indiana currently leads the nation in private-sector job growth, and it’s events like these that help drive our economic development. I look forward to being a part of this upcoming job fair and hearing from Hoosiers on what the state can do to continue and encourage a business climate where both employers and employees thrive.”
