State Sens. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) and Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek) issued the following joint statement today regarding Subaru’s decision to expand in Lafayette:
STATEHOUSE (May 16, 2012) — “Unemployed and underemployed Hoosiers in Tippecanoe County once again have the opportunity to find meaningful work thanks to Subaru of Indiana.
“With more than 20 years of operation in the Lafayette area, Subaru has not only proven itself as a high-caliber employer for Hoosiers but also as a company that is dedicated to positive community involvement. We’re grateful for the investment Subaru continues to make in our manufacturing industry and look forward to helping facilitate its future success.”
Lafayette-based Subaru of Indiana, Inc. today announced it will create up to 100 new jobs by the end of 2014. The manufacturing facility has been open in Tippecanoe County since 1989 and currently employees more than 3,600 Hoosiers.
