This week, Gov. Mike Pence and Commissioner for Higher Education Teresa Lubbers joined Hoosier business and government leaders to launch a new campaign, ”You Can. Go Back.” The program is a statewide effort to encourage adults to finish a post-secondary degree or credential, a strategy in reaching Indiana’s goal to increase the percentage of Hoosiers with education beyond high school to 60 percent by 2025.

This initiative is one way to improve the quality of our workforce, and help put Hoosiers on a path to success. The “You Can. Go Back.” campaign looks beyond the K-12 pipeline and encourages a continuing education that helps working Hoosiers meet the qualifications of the fastest growing, high-wage jobs that will provide opportunity and improve lives.

With an estimated 750,000 Hoosier adults having some college credit but no degree, the initiative is meant to help them finish what they started and make it easier for them to get back to school by providing readily available scholarships, flexible class schedules and online courses and college credit for work and military experience, among other things.

This month, thousands of former college students will be receiving messages by mail and email about how they can take advantage of the many benefits this campaign offers, as well as learn more about the resources designed to support their return to school.
