State Sen. Travis Holdman to chair tax review task force, fiscal policy study committee

STATEHOUSE (July 13, 2023) — State Sen. Travis Holdman (R-Markle) will serve as chair of the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy and the State and Local Tax Review Task Force in preparation for the 2024 legislative session.

Holdman's other assignments include:

The State and Local Tax Review Task Force was created this year through Senate Enrolled Act 3, which Holdman authored in order to take a holistic look at Indiana's tax system.

"Rising inflation is greatly impacting Hoosiers," Holdman said. "The new State and Local Tax Review Task Force will help lawmakers consider Indiana's tax system as a whole and how Indiana may be able to cut taxes so taxpayers can keep more of their hard-earned money."

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
