Sen. Greg Walker welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Apr. 21, 2023) – State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in March.

• Ava Gausmann, from Columbus, attends Columbus Christian School
• Will Gausmann, from Columbus, attends Trinity Lutheran High School
• Aaron Simmons, from Columbus, attends Indiana Connections Academy
• Stella Thompson, from Columbus, attends St. Peters Lutheran School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It is always a pleasure to have local students visit the Statehouse," Walker said. "The Senate Page program offers students a unique experience to see the legislature up close and I encourage young Hoosiers with an interest in government to look into the program and consider participating next year."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
