Sen. Garten welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 9, 2022) – State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January.

Casey Lambert, from Jeffersonville, attends Charlestown Middle School

Joseph Pearce, from New Albany, attends Christian Academy of Indiana

Ben Rehnberg, from Jeffersonville, attends Christian Academy of Indiana

Maggie Seevers, from Jeffersonville, attends Charlestown Middle School

Stella Siewert, from Jeffersonville, attends Parkview Middle School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor, and interacting with their state senator.

"The Senate Page Program is a wonderful opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn what goes into being a state senator," Garten said. "It's an unforgettable experience for any student who has an interest in helping our community and wants to get involved."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
