Sen. Garten welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (April 19, 2023) – State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in March and April.

Paging for the Indiana Senate is a great opportunity for students to meet the senator from their district and learn about state government. Senate pages are able to tour the House and Senate chambers, Supreme Court and governor's office.

"The Senate Page Program provides students with a well-rounded educational experience as they learn about the Statehouse and legislative process up close," Garten said. "It has been a pleasure to have students from my district visit our capital and show an interest in how our state operates. I encourage young Hoosiers to participate next session."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
