Raatz: General Assembly kicks off 2024 session

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2023) — State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.

"Last session, I helped adopt legislation expanding work-based learning opportunities for Hoosier high school students," Raatz said. "After studying this learning structure further during the summer, I anticipate revisiting this policy during the 2024 legislative session so our state can continue to foster a K-12 system tailored to students' unique education needs."

As the 2024 session gets underway, Raatz encourages residents of Senate District 27 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Raatz can be reached via email at Senator.Raatz@iga.in.gov or by phone at 800-382-9467.
