Sen. Niemeyer welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 20, 2024) – State Sen. Rick Niemeyer (R-Lowell) welcomed Lowell resident and homeschool student Zoey Messler to the Statehouse who served as a Senate page in January.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It's always nice to see students from my district make the trip to Indianapolis to participate in the page program," Niemeyer said. "This program gives students the opportunity to see how our state government operates, and I always enjoy meeting with them when they visit the Statehouse."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
